Orbital Forming

Orbital forming is a specialty metal forming process which uses lower and upper dies set at an angle to form metal into required shapes. The orbital motion forces the metal to deform at a lower force level than other cold forming processes. Orbital forming is often used in power semi-conductor housing to produce a high quality shape with no compromise of the material grain structure. Stalcop is capable of orbital forming products requiring up to 1,400 metric tons of pressure and up to 200mm in diameter.
